 Arturo Chavez

Ed.D., LCSW, M.Ed., PPSC

I am an experienced professional with a diverse background in school-based mental health, equity, continuous improvement, and various other areas within the education sector. With a passion for creating positive change in schools and communities, I offer a range of services aimed at enhancing the well-being and academic success of students.

My expertise lies in school-based mental health, where I specialize in providing support and interventions to address the unique social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students. I am well-versed in evidence-based practices and have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise in the school setting. Whether it's implementing comprehensive mental health programs, conducting assessments, or delivering targeted interventions, I bring a compassionate and solution-focused approach to my work.

Equity is another critical area of focus in my practice. I am committed to promoting inclusive and equitable educational environments where every student has equal access to opportunities and resources. Through training, consultation, and policy development, I assist schools in fostering a culture of fairness, cultural responsiveness, and social justice.

In addition to my expertise in mental health and equity, I have extensive experience in program development. I specialize in creating school social work internship programs, providing guidance on best practices, and supporting the integration of interns into school settings. Furthermore, I offer technical assistance to state, county, and local education agencies to enhance their capacity to effectively serve students and families.I am skilled in developing collaborative partnerships between schools, social service agencies, and families to support the educational success of these vulnerable populations.

Community engagement is another area of strength, and I serve as an expert in fostering meaningful connections between schools and their surrounding communities. By facilitating dialogue, promoting collaboration, and involving parents, caregivers, and community members, I help schools create a supportive and engaged network that positively impacts student outcomes. As a parent and caregiver advocate, I understand the importance of involving families in the educational process. I provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers, empowering them to navigate educational systems, access resources, and advocate for their children's needs.

I am dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of students, families, and communities. With my comprehensive expertise and passion for education, I am confident in my ability to help schools and organizations create nurturing and inclusive environments that support the success and well-being of all students. Let's work together to transform education and create a brighter future for our youth.
